Three adults, myself, my wife, and our 19-year-old son spent 9 magical days exploring Iceland in our Happy Camper 4XL. We have rented campervans before, in Iceland and other locations, but this experience was by far the best! There was plenty of space for all of us, despite one over-packer and two photographers with lots of gear. The kitchen was perfect and the interior overall is well thought out and has everything you need! Thank you Happy Camper for a fantastic experience! Wi-fi worked in all but the most remote spots (during a storm!) mechanically the van handled and ran perfectly, even in high winds. We are already planning our next Happy Camper adventure! Taak!

Nous étions deux et avons loué un camper Renault Trafic (happy 2-3 pax) pendant 3 semaines en mars! Il est neuf et bien aménagé avec peu de kms.
L’équipe était accueillante et arrangeante.
Ils prennent le temps de donner beaucoup de conseils sur l’Islande et le van durant le Check-In afin d’appréhender au mieux le roadtrip.
Tous les équipements nécessaires à l’intérieur du Van (vaisselle, couettes, plaides, camping gaz, tablette avec info route et wifi etc…).
Des navettes à l’arrivée et au départ inclues pour vous déposer et vous récupérer à l’aéroport.

I'd really recommend Happy Campers if you're planning for a trip to Iceland. We drove along the south coast up to Vatnajökull and had an amazing time.
The camper was clean, well equipped and made it a breeze to drive round Iceland.
Big thanks to Munch who set us up for our journey - he was friendly and informative, giving us lots of info so we were ready for our trip.

I am a repeat customer of Happy Campers because of the outstanding customer service I received from all of their employees and the high quality vans they rent. They were extremely responsive and helpful to my tourist needs. The rental process, both online and in person, was very easy and straight forward. The vans operated smoothly as expected and gave me no problems what so ever. The dash mounted tablet was very helpful for navigation and to look for attractions. Happy Camper rates were also very competitive. You can’t go wrong with Happy Campers. I will certainly use them again the next time I visit Iceland!

Excellent service this is the second time we have used them and they are always very helpful , Jon answered all of our questions with ease , the price they quoted was all you had to pay with no nasty add-ons at the end , you get picked up and dropped off at the airport if you wish , we had a great time and did all the ring road for the second time and the bad news is we still haven’t see everything we wanted to see so I suppose we will have to come again

Had a great trip in our happy camper!
We were picked up and dropped off from the Keflavik Airport with their convenient shuttle service. Their customer service was great. It took a little but of time to get our rental, but that was because we arrived with a number of other groups, so it took time to get everyone on sorted out. But we were able to enjoy a coffee and relax at their office until they could get to us. They had a lot of helpful information for the area and even a spot where you could take/ leave extra items that were unused like paper towels, seasonings, oils, coffee, tea, any non perishable items you may need. Helped for starting off and for leaving the extra items we had that we couldn’t pack home.
They give you a tablet with wifi which was great for us since our e-sims we purchased didn’t work. It helped us stay connected and navigate a new place. It also has maps and some pre set trip itineraries. You can also look up things that are of interest to you and build your own route for the day. That was convenient since we knew what we wanted to see but didn’t always know where exactly things were and what order you would get to them on the trip. You can also contact office via chat.
We rented the happy 1 for two people. It was well equipped for the smallest camper. We were camping in March, the temperature ranged from -8 to 6C yet we were plenty warm. The heater was great, the first night I was too hot. We grabbed extra blankets but didn’t need them, so save yourself some storage, you won’t be cold.
There is a little cooler. It won’t keep things frozen but cool. It’s fairly small but worked for a day or two worth of groceries which was fine because there was always a town with a grocery store (at least on the ring road).
There are pros and cons to the happy 1.
I’m 6’ 2, ( 188cm ). The bed was plenty long enough, however I couldn’t quite sit up strait inside and obviously couldn’t stand up fully. It worked fine for my wife and I but if you want a bit more room to change, and a bit more storage etc. maybe consider one of the taller camper vans. That being said, it was great on gas and could be easily driven through parking lots that were sometimes packed. Just a consideration when choosing what you want to rent.
Overall, I would go with happy campers again!

totally hussle free and friendly experience! we rented a van for a week to which they were extra supportive and one step ahead our questions.
they provided excellent pick up/drop of from/to the airport, very good instructions on how to use the van and its accessories, clean linings, pillows and duvets, and even extra blankets upon request.
Alex was an overall great guy who handled us and reassured us over whatever worries we had about our first van camping experience.
I would advise anyone to rent from Happy Campers

Incredible trip, we are so happy to experience Iceland in this way. Our campervan was exceptional and a joy to travel Iceland in. Everything worked perfectly, given we visited in the depths of winter it was incredible to have zero issues. The camper itself is extremely warm, especially in the evening. Our diesel heater really made sleeping in the van really comfortable. We also picked up sleeping bags at the Happy Campers HQ which we would highly recommend to rental. If you need anything else you can pick up as extra's at the office, such as Sleeping bags as I mentioned and also towels, Coffee flasks, portable speaker, tables and chairs etc. We also opted for the Tablet which was another great extra. Its primarily a sat nav but it also acts as a wifi provider so you can connect and have internet in the van. We got a renault traffic and it was the perfect size. The road in Iceland in winter can be tricky but the van was perfect despite the conditions. it started everyday without fail and everything inside the van worked perfectly. They also kindly picked us from the airport which was very convenient. They also have a number that you can all anytime if you need any assistance which is nice to know. We will definitely return to Iceland again, and we will do it with Happy Campers. We are thinking a summer trip next time. Although winter is beautiful also. Either way Iceland is amazing.

We had a delightful experience with our cozy "Happy Camper" – it was affordable, the staff were exceptionally welcoming, and the van itself was incredibly dependable. The innovative concept of offering leftover products at the Happy Camper headquarters was a game-changer, sparing us the expense on items we would barely use.
The van handled icy roads with the ease of a truck and proved to be very comfortable for sleeping once we mastered the heating system.
I would definitely recommend it.

I rented with happy campers in Nov 2023. The campers are top quality, fully equipped, and excellently designed, all at a lower price point than all its competitors. The reception is also beautifully designed and has many amenities free of charge.
What sets happy campers apart is its strong customer centric focus. When I faced an issue on the road, they were quick to offer roadside assistance and offered to compensate me for the lost time. I received a fine which I disputed, and happy campers helped me to follow up with parking agency.
Huge shoutout to Milos and Haukur for putting the customer first, always. Thank you for the experience.

My family and I have rented twice before with Happy Campers, now have rented a 3rd and 4th time, and we will continue to do so every time we travel to Iceland. The van is nice and well equipped. They set you up with everything you need, and they don't charge you for every little thing. They give you all the information you need to have a successful self guided journey. (But still do your research first. Iceland can be challenging, and you'll understand all their advice better). MONK was the best! He was very informative, helpful, and accommodating! We're also considering a trip to South Africa, and we'll certainly be looking to rent a Happy Camper there too.
