We just got back from a trip to Iceland - we rented the Happy Campers 4x4 and I could not recommend it enough! The van was everything we needed! The pull down bed was super comfortable, the heating kept us toasty all night and the overall van life experience for a week was made so easy with this 4x4. The staff were so helpful and made check in and out very quick along with providing a shuttle to and from the airport. Iceland weather can be unpredictable so when we we across a road closure due to weather we did not have to worry as our bed was with us! All in all the best experience for me and my partner. 10/10 would recommend! Thank you Happy Campers.

Wonderful experience. We just got back from a 12 days' trip around the island, with two little kids and temperatures with a real feel of down to -20 degrees (Celsius) and everything was just perfect. The heater worked more than fine (something really appreciated considering the harsh weather), the tires ensured a safe trip even in the most difficult conditions and the Van had plenty of space for the 4 of us. The app, the map of open campsites provided and all the info that the super nice members of staff Liliane (Croatian girl) and Kris (Albanian guy) shared with us while checking in were more than helpful. Thanks guys for an unforgettable experience. We will come back one day, for sure, and we will be renting a van again from you! We've rented vans in other countries before, and this one was, by far, the best choice ever. Thanks a lot for everything and keep doing what you're doing. You guys rock!

WE LOVE HAPPY CAMPERS. Honestly the best campervan rental in iceland. Super helpful and got picked up from the airport by a lovely danish guy by the name of Muk. Very comedic and showed me the ropes of the vehicle and broke down how to navigate iceland. He was patient and was on standby throughout our trip. Even reminding us to collect the sleeping bags we almost forgot before a long drive to Gulfoss. The happy 4x4 XL is a beauty too. Will most definitely be renting again on our return to complete the ringroad as we only had to time for the southcoast this trip.

It was the best customer service I had from airport arrival to airport departure. I love this team and how helpful they are. The campervan provided basic necessities and was cute and comfy. I have no complaints at all. Definitely will go through them again when I go back to Iceland.

We had great 3 weeks with Happy Campers!
The 4x4 campervan had the perfect size for two people and was well equiped for winter in Iceland (heater, spiked tires). Since there was enough space for a table, we could sit out bad weather playing games or cooking meals and weren't dependent on indoor campground spaces.
Whenever we had a problem (water tap, back seat coming lose) the staff helped us immediately over the phone.
We miss our home in Iceland allready and would recommend Happy Campers to anyone asking.

We travelled in the 4x4 for 3 weeks in March. Be sure to check/test the provided gear before departure as there are some faulty pieces. The car was well equiped for a winter in harsh conditions of iceland: The heater worked well, spiked tires, winter kit included. A better ice scraper for the windows, which froze on the inside every night in the north, would have helped.
The tablet (included in happiest bundle) has a wifi hotspot and is good as a gps & weather/aurora forecast, highly recommended.
We brought our own sleeping bags (very warm, -10°) and were glad we had them (as we saw temperatures around -17°).
Only real issue was the back bench, which came loose from its screws on a long gravel road stretch. The functionality was not seriously affected. Happycampers were very nice about it and provided us with a refund for the inconvenience. They were also kind enough to refund us for a two days earlier return on the car.
Together with the generally fast and competent support they provided on the road, we felt well cared for and are happy we chose happycampers!
Tipp for travellers: You can always call 1777 to ask for road conditions and advice for your route. Best get an Icelandic sim with nova (2000 isk) for cheap calls.

We had a fantastic experience with Happy campers. We hired a Happy 2 EX and found it easy to drive, spacious and comfortable, even on cold nights. All of the online content is very useful and made planning our trip very easy.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They are very easy to get in touch with should there be any issues with camper (the only issue we had was with our water pump and this was resolved quickly over the phone). There were no issues picking up or dropping off the van. Airport pick up was very convenient, they even dropped us off at our hotel on the way back.
I would highly recommend and we are already planning our next trip!

Happy Campers was great from the moment they picked us up at the airport. Lilianna picked us up and it was a great entrance to Iceland. She was informative, friendly and kind. We wanted to bring her on our road trip!
The rest of the trip was amazing, we were able to contact then company with questions through the GPS system and they were quick to respond.
Dropping off the van was easy and quick, with Lilianna again. She remembered us, asked about our trip and was very helpful in the questions we had. Kris drove us to the airport and was funny and great.
Overall, it was a great company to rent from. The van was comfortable, warm at night, and had everything we needed!
Highly recommend and I would personally use this company again.

I can’t recommend this rental company enough. Throughout the entire booking process they were accessible and easy to work with even as my trip encountered some date changes. Their tablet app was SO helpful as well. I had an absolutely unforgettable time in my happy camper van in Iceland

Had the best experience! It is so convenient and wallet friendly to be able to tour Iceland in a happy camper and drive to your desired locations, eat, sleep, and repeat! The 2 person van was just enough space for my friend and I. The refrigerator and stove were an added bonus for cooking up breakfast and hot dogs on the go. 10/10 would recommend! My only suggestion would be to bring your own travel pillow :) Krist was super helpful and even picked us up from our first activity at the Lagoon! Talk about service! Can’t wait for my next happy camper experience

This is my second time renting the campervan from this company. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. I got picked up from the airport by happy campers transfer, got an informative instruction about the local road signs, weather forecast and tons of useful info about icelandic roads, gas stations etc.
After super nice week long road trip I've dropped off the car and got a lift to the airport. I had no problems with the car, the service at the company is good, I can recommend the Happy Campers.
The nice croatian lady (sorry, forgot her name) took good care of me.

Incredible! Went in August, now booking my trip for this summer! The best company, smoothest communication, ease, made the trip feel less intimidating, employees are the sweetest ever. The company is a big reason I am coming back this summer. (and booking happy camper again) Happy camper vans also honk and wave as they pass one another and it became a very fun aspect of driving!! Like how adorable! They even refunded us when we forgot our extra sleeping bags, Seriously, could not recommend this place enough! absolutely excited to come back this summer!

I just finished a week of driving around and exploring Iceland solo and I have to say there can’t be any better way to explore Iceland! Happy Campers offers a great selection of high quality camper vans to suit any trip. They are super well equipped and have everything you need for a successful holiday. The tablet was a great feature that mapped out my whole journey and always alerted me of points of interest nearby. The Happy Camper team were also very helpful and offered a lot of information and support about driving and the roads in Iceland.

Fue excelente, pero OJO con el depósito! No nos informaron que a la llegada deberíamos tener una tarjeta de crédito con 2.500€ que luego te devuelven si todo ha ido bien. Si no tienes de crédito y es de débito, deberás pagar 30€/dia de seguro, y que no te devuelven. Al final eso sí, nos ofrecieron una solución (teníamos la camper para 10 días y la redujimos a 5 para que quedase compensado el precio, ellos nos devolvieron el dinero y nosotros pagamos el seguro).
La camper es tal y como la describen y los utensilios igual, estaba muy limpia tanto por dentro como por fuera.
El personal de happy campers es muy amable y atento y las instalaciones son perfectas.
Y el personal de guide to iceland la verdad que también perfecto, atendiendo en todo momento tus necesidades y resolviéndolo rápidamente o ofreciendo soluciones!
Repetiremos seguro!!

Happy Campers was the best choice for us, and we have been honestly very satisfied !
Some things were a bit outdated inside our van (heating or handbrake), but nothing major and we were substantially reimbursed for the inconvenience, even though we hadn't asked for it ! Good move from the company, what a way to make us loyal.
I recommend Happy Campers without hesitation and especially Benjamin who was so supportive and kind to us !

My girlfriend and I booked the 4x4 XL for 6 nights as we wanted as much space as possible inside the camper due to it being winter and not wanting to cook etc outside. The size was perfect. I could almost stand up fully (I'm 6'4") and as there were only two of us, we fully unpacked our suitcases and stored them at the back under the main bed, not to be seen again until packing on the final morning. We stored all of our day to day things on the upper bed (without pulling it out fully) which left the main area of the camper with a lot of excess space for us to cook, eat, get changed and relax. We paid for the Happiest Bundle for the full insurance and extras so we took full advantage of that. We never got around to using the deck chairs and table in the (-7)*C - (-19)*C that we experienced on our trip but I'm sure when we return again in the warmer months we will use everything available. The best part of the camper was that we didn't even need to use the sleeping bags as the heater worked all night, every night, and even some days that we were in the camper a bit more than outside! It was hooked up to 4 or 5 batteries and worked seamlessly for the full 6 nights. It was very quick to warm the camper up as well after being out in the cold for hours.
Overall, this camper was a great experience and we are already planning on returning at some point and will be renting the same 4x4 XL.

Could not recommend Happy Campers more. They made our holiday easy to organise, and once in South Africa the experience was seamless. The van was perfect for a couples holiday: all the storage space you need (pack lightly), and perfectly equiped.
The team communicates very clearly, and we always felt looked after. A big thanks to Eric and the team!
