We had the time of our lives during the 9 full days on the Ring Road, in our Happy Camper 1 EX (the cruise control was key)!
We're of average height and slim, so the van fit us well, and I'd return in a heartbeat!

We can fully recomend Happy Campers! Everything was perfect and no detailed examination of returned camper. We really loved our Happy Kempík, which has everything, what you need for two. Their small happy campers are with the best interier setting compared to others. Next time with 4x4 ;)

Rented the Happy 4x4 for 15 days in summer. I had previously done this trip in Iceland in a non-4x4 vehicle and it was doable, but the 4x4 difference was dramatic. It was easy to drive on the gravel roads and manage the terrain so much better that we got to do and see more. Wasn't the most comfortable sleep in the world but at nearly 40 it wasn't the worst, either. It was set up with everything we needed for the trip. And considering all the pans and plates - it was a pretty quiet ride with very little moving around while driving. Loved it. Recommended highly.

Wow! What can I say about how brilliant Happy Campers have been?
Firstly, we were originally booked to visit in 2022 but had to cancel at short notice due to a family emergency. Happy Campers were amazingly understanding and allowed us to defer our trip on the original deposit. A lot of companies would say “tough” keep the original deposit and charge a new one for the new booking. At that point we knew we’d booked with the right company.
During the 18 months between first booking and finally getting out to Iceland I messaged Happy Campers numerous times asking questions and requesting discount codes and I always got a reply super quick and always exceptionally helpful.
We arrived at Keflavik tired and flustered and were greeted by Benjamin. It says on the website he’s on a mission to ensure everyone has a great experience and I can say to Benjamin “mission accomplished”. Friendly, helpful and a great intro to Iceland. Him and my other half chatted away like old friends on the journey back to Happy Campers
Back at the office we were helped by another really lovely team member. I’m so sorry I can’t remember her name, but she was Croatian, and she answered all of our questions, had loads of insight and info on do’s, don’ts, and helpful tips for our trip as well.
Now to the van. It was an absolute dream! I’m only 5’ tall so sometimes struggle to comfortably drive bigger vehicles and I only drive a small hatchback so thought I might take some time to adjust to the much bigger van but no such problems. In fact I was gutted to hand her back as she was so nice to drive Plenty of space for all our stuff, easy to drive, comfy as both driver and passenger. Cosy and warm overnight with a big comfy bed. The curtains did a great job of darkening the van despite the seemingly never ending daylight. The big (and cold!) fridge was excellent and the add-on Bbq was so good we’ve been trying to source one for home!
The Happy Challenge is a great incentive to get out there and see some parts of Iceland that don’t make the headlines when planning a trip... As well as the bonus of earning back some of the rental cost. Plus we’re both competitive so it really spoke to that part of our nature. We set ourselves a target of doing 10/20 of the challenge list and actually made 11 (insta: @womblebird) and honestly we preferred many of the Happy Challenge stops over the big name tourist spots.
All in all our whole experience of Happy Campers from start to finish has been above and beyond exceptional. We’ve already recommended them to several people back home who have expressed an interest in visiting Iceland with a campervan, as well as started planning our next trips out where we will definitely be going as Happy Campers again.

Our time in our Happy Camper was amazing! I couldn’t recommend it more. It gave us a lot of flexibility in our travel plans and was a unique experience that we will remember forever!

We had five days to explore Iceland, and our Happy Camper 1 fit our needs perfectly. Happy Campers had everything necessary to outfit the camper from the sleeping bags/comforters, to the "kitchen". The van itself was fuel efficient, comfortable, and easy to drive (I love standard transmissions). It made it easy to go where we wanted, when we wanted. The best way to travel. Milos, at Happy Campers, and indeed all the staff really made to whole process a great experience.

Overall it was a fantastic experience booking our campervan with happ campers. Our trip was so much fun and we really got to see and do a lot. We rented the 4x4 3pax, and it was the right amount of space for 2 people. We were able to drive confidently (albeit carefully) over the F roads and purchased the full insurance.
There were some setbacks initially, but we didn't let it rain on our trip. Airport pickup is a bit chaotic and left us feeling like we might have been better off finding another way. We were finally picked up about an hour after our scheduled time, which was still super early in the morning. Upon arrival to the office, we were helped quickly but then handed off about 2 other times. Meanwhile, other people arriving after us got their vans and left within minutes. We sat around for close to another hour. They were quite busy and appeared under staffed. We requested a bbq grill, which didn't have fuel, and we were told to just go to a gas station and swap it, and they would reimburse us. We could not find any gas station or market that had fuel available, so that was a bummer but didn't ruin the trip by any means. Our GPS/tablet worked while we were at the office, but once we really got going, it became unreliable, and the wifi was nonexistent. The power cord was also not working in the van. Luckily, we had our phones and had service to continue on our journey.
The bedding was enough for 2 people, but on our next trip, we will be stopping somewhere to buy additional bedding for more comfort.
As stated earlier, overall, it was a fantastic trip, and we would be so thrilled to use happy campers again in the future.

Happy Campers was a fantastic company to work with, starting with their communication to getting the campervan. My husband & I were in the Happy 2-3 Pax for 3 weeks and we were very happy with our choice. This campervan has been designed so well, had lots of room for everything, it was very easy to cook in and had plenty of room for sleeping.
Milos picked us up from the airport, walked us through our campervan and then drove us back to the airport at the end of our trip. Milos was super friendly and very helpful!!
We highly recommend Happy Campers - you can definitely tell it is family run because of the pride they take in their business.

The staff was super friendly, and the van had wi-fi. The tablet that came with the van had the weather and navigation, which was a huge help. It was great to be able to explore Iceland in our own time. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to drive around and see it all!

Our experience was great. I highly recommend Happy Campers. Professional, high quality and fair price for what you get. We got a 5 people camper for 3 people and it was extremely comfortable for us to do the whole Ring Road.

We had the trip of a lifetime in the Happy Camper 1 EX. We spent two weeks traveling around ring road and the van did great in the wind and rain. The customer service we received was outstanding. If you want to explore Iceland on your own clock, there’s no better way to do it than with Happy Campers. Our Happy 2 van had everything we needed for our 2 week trip around the ring road, and the fuel economy was excellent. We travelled almost 3000 kms and only had to fill the tank 3 times! The tablet they provided works as a WiFi hotspot so we had internet access everywhere without fail, as well as GPS, weather reports, etc.
Overall a fantastic experience, and if I ever return, I’ll use them again.
I would recommend Happy Campers to anyone!!

Great service! Our van suffered some damage due to the wind storms, and the people at Happy Campers promptly arranged for us to visit a mechanic in the town where we were staying. The van got fixed in no time and we didn't have to interrupt our trip! Everything else went super smoothly.
The van was clean and well equipped with everything we could possibly need.
Some things I would have like to know before renting: you won't need the sleeping bags if you're going in the summer. The heater and duvets are more than enough if you have warm PJs. Bring your own coffee mug or thermos if you're planning on making coffee with the French Press for multiple people (the camper is equipped with plastic mugs, but they affect the taste of the coffee). The GPS thing in the tablet is very reassuring and makes navigation a breeze.

We spent 3 weeks in a Happy 2 EX travelling around Ring Road, the Westfjords, and Snæfellsnes Peninsula. We were very pleased with our choice. We loved the extra room when it was set up in "day" (or couch) form. (P.S. rent the camp table - it is awesome to eat lunch on the couch using the table when the weather keeps you from eating outside). The storage space was sufficient to handle my husband's large Ogio suitcase and my large (roller bag) style. We just moved mine to the front seat each night. The items supplied covered our needs - all we needed was our food. We didnt even end up using half the stuff they provided! Milos picked us up from the airport, made sure we knew how to operate the camper, and then he helped us check it back in. All a very smooth process. I highly recommend the Happy App. You can chat with Happy Campers during business hours. That was really helpful (especially when we came across a road that was unexpectedly an F road). We did get a flat tire one day, but there was a full spare and a good jack/tire changing tools. Plus, they refunded us a day for our trouble. I would definitely rent from Happy Campers again!

Just got home from our 8 day trip to Iceland. Our camper van was great for my son and I. Easy pick up to and from airport. Quick check in and education of amenities we had in van. The happy pad was very helpful for maps, Wi-Fi and points of interest along route. Also, the 24 hour roadside assistance number was easy to use, sadly I got stuck and had to use it to get pulled out but very quick service and very nice guy who came out to help us.

This is my 2nd time using a Happy Camper to travel around Iceland. I love that it’s a family own company. I will always want to support and give my business to family owned, rather than a a big industry rental car. I wouldn’t rent a camper from anyone else. I put easily 3K miles on my camper this trip. My camper was comfortable and very efficient. Cooking on board was convenient and easy. The 2 wheel drive was enough and sturdy to get around most places, accept F roads. It is the best way to see Iceland where I’m not worried about finding hotel accommodations and a place to sleep. Most towns have some level of campground, some full service with showers and restrooms. Of course it’s lovely and private to boon-dock on the island too, making sure I am camping within the required distance from agricultural areas. I highly recommend Happy Camper for your nomadic Iceland camping experience. Enjoy.
