How could you not give five stars to traveling Iceland in a camper van? That being said, there were some things that are worth mentioning, for the sake of preparation or improvement. We rented the Happy 1 EX. It was just as advertised - full cooking/sink setup, couch that folded down into a bed, nighttime heat that works. I'm fairly tall and after the first night, my partner and I were able to find a comfort zone. The EX was definitely experienced, like say 175,000 miles, and needed an oil change. It does not take hills very well and the engine light came on, but Happy Campers told us it was fine as long as It was running normally. And it was! The wifi was very handy and worked the entire time, although we sometimes had to turn it on and off. Also heads up, gas station pumps do only take cards that have pins, so for us, I had to use my debit card a few times. There's a shuttle to the airport, but we were dropping our van before they opened. So they offered to schedule us a taxi ahead of time. Finally, if you stay in Reykjavik, take the public bus instead of a taxi, it's a fraction of the price. Overall, we were very satisfied with our Iceland road trip and happy camper!
