We've had great experiences with Happy Campers TWICE now! We rented in 2012 for the Ring Road and came back ten years later to visit the Westfjords. The vans have been great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the price (which is never low in Iceland) is fair. We would rent again and recommend Happy Campers to others.

This is my second time renting from Happy Campers and I couldn't be more pleased with the staff and the vehicle I rented. The first time I rented an automatic Happy 1 the second a 4 x 4. Both vehicles were in excellent condition and transported me safely and comfortably around Iceland. The campers come equipped with a stove, a sink, cookware, a bed, blankets, sheets, pillows, tablets, and a refrigerator. You can also add a coffee press, chairs, and a table for an extra! As a solo traveller its important for me to choose rental companies that are honest and go that extra mile to ensure I am well prepared for my trip. Herdes was very helpful answering all my questions about travelling around Iceland and also provided me useful information to ensure I had a safe trip. I will be renting from them again when I return! I would recommend adding the extra insurance for tire and gravel damage when you rent a vehicle in Iceland because there are many gravel roads and the weather is unpredictable at times, even in the summer. It certainly gave me piece of mind with this extra add on.

Best way to see Iceland; the Happy Campers team [especially Krist] were really friendly and helpful from the airport pick-up to the advice about our planned route and things to see. Would recommend a bigger camper van than you think you need but would rate Happy Campers really highly.

We are just back home from spending 3 weeks touring Iceland with our "Happy Campervan" and would like to let you know what a great experience it was ! The staff were all great and I think they all deserve pizza! We were able to see so much without worrying about reservations for the end of each day. The camper worked great, pickup at the airport and shuttle back was easy. I would highly recommend your staff and company as great ambassadors for Iceland. Thanks for all your help !

Our long weekend trip was spectacular with Happy Campers! Our VW fit two people comfortably. Having a sink, cooler, and cooking supplies was a nice touch and allowed us to travel without a timeline. We slept comfortably with the heat on and were supplied with extra blankets from Happy Campers. 10/10 would recommend. Special thanks to Benjamin for his kindness upon checkout!

Exploring iceland with the Happy Camper was an great experience. We had everyhing we needed. There was enough space for three (until four) people in the Happy 3 and it was well equiped for four people. We can fully recommend the Happy 3 to all those people who want to get to know and enjoy the beautiful nature of iceland. I would do it again this way. Thank you Happy Camper Team.

First time ever in Iceland and chose Happy Campers after reviewing multiple rental companies. They are very friendly, efficient and cool :) Rented a 4x4 camper van, which was almost perfect - just maybe the orange curtains could be longer or have a darker color, to protect better from the brightness of the Icelandic sky even late at night; and the seats transforming into bed are a bit too hard, might be time to refurbish them? The vehicle is very capable off-road, which was useful to reach Háifoss as well as Þakgil campsite. Also they provided in advance a trip planner online tool, where it's possible to enter all the spots to be visited beforehand, that helped a lot on the daily trip. Would gladly return to Iceland using their new XXL 4x4 vehicle, to be able to stand up when cooking.

Loved our trip with Happy Campers! We had no issue at all with the van and really enjoyed our entire trip. The tablet that they give with the ability to chat with them at any point we thought was a great addition! We got our van stuck in mud and needed someone to pull it out - and having the chat option definitely made it easier. Overall no complaints! Definitely would rent again! Really the best way to travel Iceland!

I could not have asked for a better experience than I had with renting from Happy Campers. Due to Covid we had to reschedule the vacation three times and Happy Campers made it so easy for us to change our reservations date each time. The camper was clean, the staff were friendly and I would definitely recommend them.

Such a great experience - this is truly the best way to explore the country to the fullest!! We looked around at so many different placed and ultimately decided to rent a Happy 1 EX from Happy Campers and it was absolutely perfect for our needs. From pickup to drop-off, the customer service was top-notch and seamless. We never had any problems with the vehicle and the heater, refrigerator, and kitchen items were all in perfect working order. The Happy Camper community is strong and you'll often find other campers on the road and connect with them which we really enjoyed! Happy Campers is what made our adventure in Iceland something we will never forget! Thank you!

Happy Campers ensured every aspect of our rental process was enjoyable. The staff, vans and customers truly are happy and we couldn’t be more happy we chose them for our Icelandic honeymoon. Si vous le souhaitez une navette vous récupère à l'aéroport. Le personnel prend le temps de tout nous expliquer correctement. Une tablette est fourni avec un gps, vous trouverez toutes les activités pour profiter à fond de votre voyage. Aucun problème avec le camper, la banquette qui permet de s'asseoir est plus que bienvenue car il ne faut pas oublier que nous sommes en Islande ! Le chauffage et le frigo fonctionnent très bien ! Petit plus a ne pas negliger le service client est hyper réactif et très sympathique !

My wife and I had the best time in Iceland. The ultimate adventure and really invigorated our passion for the outdoors and love for each other.
We travelled around with Happy Camper's camper van and it was perfect. From the pick up , customer support, devices and utensils that comes with the camper until the send off - everything worked smoothly. We were able to go to a lot of places (within boundaries - check AllSafe) with the camper van without any trouble. And because of that we came back with great memories of Iceland.
Thanks to Benjamin for picking us up, registering us, explaining the functionalities of the camper van and for sending us to the airport. We hope he gets a good break in Denmark soon.

I had a really great van life experience. The staff are all very helpful and kind, and will also give great hiking recommendations. I had the Happy 1, which was a perfect amount of space for me. The back of the van was so cozy to hang out and sleep in. The mattress is a little bit hard, but I brought the inflatable sleeping pad that I take tent camping, so it made for luxurious sleep. They provide fluffy blankets and comfy pillows, and the heating system worked very well. I would recommend downloading maps.me so you have your own navigation just in case the tablet they provide doesn't work. Mine had some issues (not Happy Campers fault) and the navigation didn't work. The van was reliable and handled well in snow. Also had great tires, which is apparently a rarity for most rental companies in Iceland. I may have gotten very attached to my van (okay, their van) and I was so sad to give her back.
Also, if I mention Monk by name, does he really get a free pizza? He deserves one!

Renting with Happy Campers was the best idea for our trip to the southern coast of Iceland. Their campers are so well equipped with everything you need, and their client service is excellent even on the road. The heating system is perfect, and the bed is very confortable. You can even take some extra free blankets when you pick up the car. They treat their clients really well.

My dog's love to board at Happy Camper. Staff members send me pictures every day. My dogs get very excited when I pack camp belonging. I'm sure I miss them more than they miss me. Happy Camper staff check dogs shot records and let you know when you need to get your dogs shots updated and I find this very helpful.

Absolutely incredible experience! We had a blast traveling the ring road in our 4 x 4 happy camper. The check in, rental, and return process was super easy and it was so nice to have a kitchen, bed, and great heater to keep us warm and comfortable as we traveled. We enjoyed being able to go on gravel roads without worry and will definitely be renting again to explore some of Iceland's highlands in the newer (taller) 4 x 4 that is soon to be released. Super super fun way to explore Iceland and the Happy Campers team is great!
