This is our second time visiting Iceland and our first time with Happy Campers. We have our own camper in the UK and have visited other countries including Alaska USA Canada and New Zealand. Happy campers were the very best company we have ever dealt with. They are friendly, helpful and they did everything they could possibly do to help us enjoy our holiday.

Bester Camper ever! Wir haben uns für das Modell Happy 2 Auto entschieden um damit in zwei Wochen einmal um Island herumzufahren. Wir sind die absoluten Campervan-Anfänger und wussten noch nicht, was für uns relevant sein würde an Kriterien. Das Bett ist im Vergleich zu den anderen Modellen deutlich größer und für Personen über 1,90cm optimal, man schläft sehr bequem zu zweit darin und kann zusätzlich an der Seite noch Klamotten verstauen. Wir haben von Regen, Hagel, Schneestürmen, orangenem Weather Alert und massivem Wind wirklich alles mitgenommen und das Auto hat uns immer sicher durchgebracht. Wir haben kein bisschen gefroren durch die super Standheizung, die wirklich leise ist (gerade wenn man auf dem Campingplatz bemerkt, wie laut die anderen Camper zum Teil sind!). Das Kochen per Gaskocher ist genial, wenn auch nur für kleinere Gerichte wie Nudeln oder Sandwiches :) Der Service war hervorragend, leider weiß ich die Namen nicht mehr... Der Pick Up von Flughafen und auch der Shuttle zurück liefen problemlos ab, es wird versucht so viel Infos wie möglich zu vermitteln. Wir kommen wieder und mieten dann wieder bei Happy Campers!

It was our first time camping, and Happy Camper made our lives 100% times easier. The experience was beautiful, and it's something that I'll never forget. Would I recommend Happy Camper in the future for first time travelers and campers in Iceland? Indeed I would. Thanks to everyone again, we'll be returning in the near future. Much love!

Excellent customer service! The van we rented (Happy 2) included everything we needed and with space at a premium, everything inside was well thought out and designed. We thought we’d be freezing but the Webasto heater kept us warm every evening. The van was reliable, easy to drive and it afforded us the ability to see so much of Iceland! We can’t wait to be back and use Happy Campers again in the future! …PS the lovely lady that shuttled us to and from the airport was so helpful and informative. We didn’t get her name but she is originally from Croatia and definitely deserves a pizza lunch ☺️

Happy Campers is AMAZING. They have their system streamlined so well. The ease and comfort of booking with them was amazing. The structure of the camper van was comfortable to live, cook, hangout and sleep in. The heater worked amazing and we were soooo cozy, dry and warm each night. I am so happy with our entire experience in Iceland and with Happy Campers. Would definitely book with them again.

A Happy Camper is the best way to explore Iceland. A tablet comes with your camper that gives you GPS, Wi-fi, local recommendations, road conditions, and campsite locations/information that's extremely helpful. We had the 4x4 which handled the icy road conditions very well and it was spacious and very comfortable. Happy Campers has everything you might need in terms of bedding, games/guitars, and other accommodations to take with you on your trip. The shuttle to/from KEF was right on time and so convenient. The check in process takes a little over an hour but its thorough and the employees walk you through it all patiently. The return process for us only took 15 minutes. We stayed in Iceland for a week in March where temperatures were consistently in the low thirties (Fahrenheit) but we never once got cold in our van thanks to the heating system inside. Do yourself a favor and get a Happy Camper for your Iceland visit.

My fiancée and I spent a week driving around Iceland in one Happy Camper van and we could not be happier! Everything worked wonderfully! Starting with doing the booking, managing it was super easy and simple through the site. The staff answer email really quick if you need as well.
We had was the Happy 1EX and therefore I will focus on this review:
1) The car itself is great: 6 gears, strong motor, good road stability and the cruise control makes it great for trips.
2) The tablet with your trip and as a source of wifi is a must (get it, trust me.)
3) The back part of the car, has everything you need for a camper van trip. From all kitchen utensils until the bedsheets and duvets. Speaking of that, if you do it correctly, you are going to have only nice and cozy nights (there is a heater that can run in a secondary battery when the car is off)
I can only say great things about the trip and how good it was!

Amazing experience! Picked us up at the airport after a 3 hour delay, checking in took less than 30 minutes, everything worked perfectly and the car was amazing, checking out took less than 30 minutes and they dropped us off right at the airport. From start to finish everything went smoothly and the whole trip was fantastic!
I would (and probably will) be back to Iceland someday and I'll definitely be renting from Happy Campers again!

My wife and I rented the Happy 4x4 for 9 days the first week of March and had a perfect experience! We were nervous due to the potential for weather, but the included tablet makes understanding road conditions and weather forecasts simple and easy. We luckily didn't experience any extreme weather during our stay, but had no issues driving on snowy/icy roads with 4wd and studded tires. Had no issues staying warm overnight - as suggested by the staff, we ran the heater for a few hours before bed and then would turn on again when waking up. If renting during the winter, Happy Campers includes a map of all the campgrounds open in the winter as many are closed. Picking up the van was a detailed process but efficient, while dropping the van off was quick and easy. We utilized their free shuttle to & from the airport as well. Overall, we had no issues and will definitely rent from these guys again when we visit next time.

Desde el primer momento que nos pusimos en contacto con esta empresa, nos dio facilidades y mucha tranquilidad a la hora de alquilar una furgoneta camperizada. Lo hicimos todo a través de su web y cuando llegamos al aeropuerto ofrecían el servicio de recogerte y llevarte a por tu vehículo.
Después ya una vez con la furgoneta en nuestras manos pudimos comprobar que no le faltaba detalle alguno y que se podía hacer vida dentro sin problemas, es más, el principal miedo que teníamos era el pasar frio, pero vienen equipadas con un sistema de calefacción autónomo que aguanta de sobra toda la noche conectado, llegando incluso a pasar calor.
Otro tema importante es la seguridad de conducir en carreteras heladas y nevadas.... Pues estos vehículos vienen equipados con neumáticos que te darán esa seguridad en la carretera. Yo nunca había conducido sobre hielo o nieve y con estos vehículos se va súper seguro y muy a gusto sobre las carreteras de la isla ya que están completamente preparados para ello.
Y por último, es verdad que vivir en una furgoneta tiene muchas limitaciones (espacio y el baño/ducha) pero te da una libertad para conocer la isla que no te da un hotel. Si quieres conocer Islandia en estado puro ve con una Camper y lo disfrutarás al máximo. Y su puedes contratar una más grande e incluso 4x4 podrás llegar a sitios que con las gamas más básicas no puedes o debes llegar andando. Nosotros con la básica Happy 1 fuimos de lujo y repetiremos sin dudarlo.

We have just returned from a week in Iceland (the first week of March 2022) and have had the most amazing time.
The team at Happy Campers were very helpful, approachable and super friendly. Nothing was too much.
The van (Happy 1 Ex manual) was ideal for a trip for the two of us in winter; the van was pretty clean, well-stocked, not too small, and the heating system for the night was much better than I had anticipated! We usually only had it on ~1/3 of the way and were plenty warm enough all night with just a duvet on top (outside temperature was hovering ~0 C). Despite trying to keep cooking simple, it was handy having a small fridge too.
In total there were three USB charging ports and two car chargers/the old-style cigarette lighter chargers. We found this plenty for charging two phones, two cameras and the Happy App tablet that we had for the week.
I would recommend the Happy App too. The process of planning your trip beforehand was really useful and being able to see where you were going each day, I enjoyed. It is also easy to modify your route on your trip through the App so you are still free to be spontaneous. The Happy App also acts as your wifi (wifi alone is already included in Winter hire for safety) and we had no issues with connection.
Overall, I enjoyed having a smaller camper - it drove well and was relatively easy to get places (obviously within reason and driving to the variable conditions!).

Great experience with this rental company would highly recommend. Travelling around Iceland in a campervan gives you so much freedom and was truly the best way we could see the country. We did it in cold February and the heaters kept us toasty all night. Happy campers is very easy going and understanding, everything was done so smoothly. The campervan had everything we needed so I wouldn’t have any complaints. Thank you for the free airport shuttle service it was so helpful! Thanks guys!!

We got a happy camper 1 ex. The camper handled surprisingly well even in the yellow weather. The staff was very helpful and even took my calls after hours. The heating system was warm enough that we had to turn it way down at nights. Even in - 19C weather. We were chasing Auroras, so having the flexibility to choose your destination each day was a brilliant way to see iceland. An excellent experience that i would highly recommend!

Loved using Happy Campers for my second trip to Iceland! Ohana communicated with us prior to our trip to ensure that the van and supplies we needed were all in order! ( pack warm socks for Iceland!). Benjamin picked us up at the airport and gave us great recommendations for places to check out. He sent us on our way with the rental van full of blankets and a coffee in our hand! Iceland in winter is a magical place and we can't wait to return.

Very helpful. Campervan 1EX was essential because the heater. We went in January and didn't feel any cold inside. Always warm in the back. They provided a lot of blankets and sleeping bags and the necessary tools for us to cook.
They gave a lot of info about driving around, regarding roads conditions and tips to see the northern lights.

Loved booking though this company. They were amazing and the price was fair for how expensive iceland is. Our battery for our heating unit went out in the middle of winter and they set me up with a mechanic that was on our route. We were in and out within 20 min with a fixed battery and blasting heater. I didn't like that I was driving around in a bright green van but it is what it is.
