Flying by mini mavic DJI in New Years 2021 close Happy Campers in Njarðvík Niardvik and Keflavik are two Icelandic towns that are connected with each other. Iceland's largest international airport, Keflavik, is close to them. The photo is taken from Happy Campers in Niardvik .

I've traveled in Happy Campers twice now and I'd choose them again in heartbeat! We love that the front passenger seat turns around to make a social space in the back. Both of my trips were in the EX (experienced) vans but everything worked and was functionally sound.

My family and I were supposed to travel to Iceland last year, but COVID postponed our trip by 12 months. From our initial reservation to turning the camper van back in today, Happy Campers have been nothing but easy and friendly to work with. Shout out to Hallie and Jon who managed the original reservation and the rebooking, to Helena for checking us in so easily and extra shout out to Arnór who gave us the tour of the camper, checked us out and gave us a ride to what was supposed yo be the airport, but turns out our car rental was a few minutes away from the airport. The Happy 3 van was super comfortable for our family of four (we are actually taking several design ideas back home with us for a van conversion. We had everything we needed (we did book a few extras per some YouTube recommendations) and living in the van for a week was much more comfortable than we anticipated! Such a pleasant experience from beginning to end!! Next time we are back in Iceland, no doubt we will be returning to Happy Campers!! All around a really great experience that made our vacation great!!

I spent 5 days driving around Iceland's West and South coasts in a Happy Camper and had a fantastic time. I had no car troubles and all of the appliances (heater, cooler, sink, stove) worked as intended. Both of my main contacts (David and Helena) were friendly, prompt, and professional. Helena picked me up from the airport and checked me in, David checked me out and drove me back to the airport. I enjoyed speaking with both of them about my trip. Some other points: - I bought a lot of the insurance but I don't believe I needed any of it. I'm sure this will depend on where you're going and time of year. - I don't recommend renting the guitar, there's so little space in the van as it is. Apparently you can rent a ukulele though! - It took me a while to figure out the stove, at least for mine you need to turn the knob all the way until it clicks to engage the self-igniter Overall it was great! I know there are a lot of van companies, and I've only driven the one so I can't compare, but I would 100% recommend Happy Campers based on my experience

It's really hard to put into words how helpful and kind these guys were. We got a really warm welcome when we arrived, they showed us the car and the documents pretty fast (but still thoroughly). After, we stayed half an hour and bombarded them with questions to which they politely and patiently responded. The van itself was really good, in optimal condition which was quite surprising since it was an older model. We haven't had any problem during our trip, so we didn't need to contact them, but as I noticed, they were really fast in responding to emergencies that other tourists encountered. When we got back they were fast and helpful. Summarizing it all: kind, fast, effective, flexible and high quality experience with an affordable price, I can't help but recommend them to everyone who plans to rent a campervan in Iceland. Thanks again Jon and David for the kindness!

First: we can recommend happy campers 100%. We rented a Happy 2 ex for 8 days with happiest bundle. Happy Campers is a full service! They get you from the airport area, they give you any information you need, they give you maps, a journey planner with all highlights and more, they give you instructions how to drive, what to take in consideration, where to be careful and so on. They have all you need to hire, games to lend, and leftovers from other travellers you can just take with you. In case of anything you can call them and you have all emergency numbers in the car. You have discounts on gas and while you are member of several gas companies you can go free of charge to the toilet at most stations. The camper was good and had all we wanted. Probably due to the fact we had an ex car sleeping was a bit of a challenge in most "positions" we felt the construction of the seats (metal stuff) - seats were took down to form the bed - after we put some layers of carton (from supermarkt boxes) upon it, it went quite good. In the camper you have lots of storage and space to cook - even the weather is not good outside. The faucet did work only half way (tube was to short and in wrong position) but no hassle we took coke bottles instead to cary water to do the dishes. You can get drinking water everywhere it is fine from every tab. Heating worked perfect and all night long. Cooking stuff worked fine and coffee / tee mugs were good friends :-) Pillows and blankets were fine and warm enough. There were lot of charging possibilities while you drive (2) and also 2 while you do not drive (different batteries) it was a 1 A and 2.1 A USB A. With an inverter you get even more. It was all night bright (it did not get dark), no light was needed. With our booking we had a free WiFi tool we could also take outside on a walk (what we did not need) it worked everywhere around the whole island so we had all the time connection, google maps, whatsapp and so on. A table and chairs are nice but not urgently needed because some campgrounds have tables or common areas. But we used it to enjoy breakfast with view to a nearby waterfall etc. Happy Campers staff is very friendly and reliable. We could reach them even Saturday evening out of office hours. Even if the booking site is not yet perfect we could all get through email or in person when we got the car. All very honest and customer oriented. All was well and fast done. Thank you Happy Campers we had a great time. We would without any doubt book again at happy campers !!!

What an amazing experience! Happy Campers was honestly the best company I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I rented the Happy Camper 1EX (so an vehicle that has seen more use) but you would never know. The car ran great, the space was clean, and the layout of the van was excellent. Everything we needed was right there! It wasn’t particularly cold during our stay, but we’d still turn on the heater a before getting ready to settle in, and it would be nice and toasty. There were many nights I had to kick the blankets off. Overall, an amazing experience and I can’t wait to come back and rent from them again. Special shout out to Helena for the fun shuttle rides and Jón for making sure we were 100% squared away.

We just completed a 10-day journey in the Happy 2. What a blast! The trip was seamless from start to finish thanks to the incredibly helpful staff at Happy Campers. They picked us up at the airport then got us situated and familiar with the van before we took off. We had everything we needed for an epic adventure around Iceland. They were easy to reach by phone or email and happily answered all our questions. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again when we return to Iceland in the future!

I rented the blue 4x4 car. Had a great experience with both the car and the staff. The car was comfortable to drive and could easily handle rough road conditions. The staff was polite and explained every detail about the car very well. I definitely reccomend renting cars from Happy campers.

Just dropped off our Happy 1 Ex after our 10 days road trip. Great family owned business with the full family involved and a fun and charismatic owner. Nice Camper Vans for a road trip, with good service. We decided to go for the most budget version (Happy 1 Ex). It was very basic but you have all what you need to have a nice road trip. A second gas cooker and pot would be fantastic to be able to cook some more advanced meals than just one pot pasta.

Oh my goodness what to say about the happy people running this place. The attention to details for everything you need to RV around the whole country! We felt safe and secure after the briefing of our vehicle. Having a micro kitchen with water and a sink made for absolutely delicious meal prep with stunning views. We enjoyed endless summer days and packed lots of sights in. It can be done if you have two drivers to go the whole way around on the ring road and see mostly everything on the list with a whale watching tour and a off road tour to ice caves in five days. Signing off as a very Happy Camper. Remember to wave at other happy campers you see on the way! It's a fun road trip game to see who can spot the next happy RV first. Like the days of slug bug!!

I left early this morning and couldn’t be happier with every single step of the process. As a solo traveler and first time to Iceland I didn’t do a lot of research on transportation but ended up striking gold. Online the customer service is very responsive and very kind. I had booked before covid and held my deposit here throughout all of last year with intent to visit and they were very honest and upfront. The gentleman who checked me in had a great attitude and was helpful. The shuttle driver was very engaging and smiling and the young lady who checked me out was very helpful, very upbeat and did a fantastic job. The car was clean, no issues, all the basics were checked. As someone who managed several rental car branches I know what it takes in this business and these people are doing it well! I already referred a friend for a trip in a few months and I myself hope to be back next year to use them again.

I booked with this company because they had a special discount. I had a last minute issue where I though I would be arriving s whole day later but last minute everything worked out and I was able to catch my original flight. During that time I was emailing back and forth with them and was afraid that when I arrived that I wouldn't have my camper van because I asked for it a day later, but when I arrived and got through customs I got a call that they were waiting outside to drive me to pick up the camper van. They were extremely friendly and informative. They went through the dos and don't. They showed us great resources for weather, roads, and attractions. When walking us through the camper van condition and how to use things they found the back seat/ bed not working right but quickly;y fixed it in 15 minutes and apologized that it wasn't looked at before pick up. The wifi was included and was a great thing to have, so I definitely recommend reserving one with the rental. I was got a inverter that we used all the time but I should have just brought my own from the USA. I also rented out a GPS that we never even touched so as long as you have the wifi you should be good. We stayed pretty warm at night without turning on the heater most of the time. Everything went well when dropping off the camper van and they gave us a ride 5 minutes West to pick up a rental car, which I hated in comparison to the camper van. I would definitely recommend this company for road trips around the beautiful country of Iceland!

We booked a Dacia Dokker for 2 persons via "Cheap Campervans" and had a great time! It really was cheap with 33€/day. The service is super nice and very professional. The booking/reservation process is efficient and straightforward. During the trip we never had any problems with the car. It drove smoothly and could even handle the bumpy gravel roads in the Westfjords easily. All Dacia Dokker are manual drive, not automatic. There is no heating system so it's a bit chilly in early summer in May when it can still snow in the north of Iceland. I recommend taking sleeping bags and an extra blanket. The sleeping mats are just long enough for 1,85m persons. There is a stove and generous cutlery and kitchen utensils included. The stove is a bit weak in cold conditions. The kitchen system works very well in general. For eating, I recommend stopping at info points with benches along the way. If very cold, you can eat in the cockpit. Because of the minimal tourism due to Covid-19, we dared to spend the night at random nice spots on the way. Technically illegal but we didn't have any problems. Make sure to stick to campsites in high season.

My friend and I rented one of the smaller camper vans (Ex1) in the beginning of April and it was amazing! Even though it was not a 4x4, it got us everywhere and there was a lot of snow. Sleeping in there is so nice and warm at night. Generally it has everything you need and it is really easy to drive. The price was very good, including a good insurance package. The guys were very friendly and helpful and offered us free transportation to the office and, after we dropped the van off, to the airport. We had an amazing trip! We totally recommend Happy Campers!

We had a great time exploring Iceland with Happy Campers. They were kind enough to leave us the camper at the airport since we arrived at 1am. All the communication was easy and they helped us with everything we needed. The Camper itself was great and has everything you need. Since we were traveling during winter season we got a winter kid and with the sleeping bags it was comfortably warm the whole night.

Happy Campers is really special as a company. With the pandemic it was necessary to change around dates, which they always helped us with and worked with us to make our experience in Iceland the best one yet. Jon is so friendly and even though we are living in trying times Happy Campers and him especially, managed to make our trip to Iceland the best one yet, so good in fact I decided to go back again soon (of course renting with them). I had been in iceland before and also rented campers before but with different companies and I really have to say if you are still looking around and wondering which company to go with: Go with Happy Campers! Every step of the rental was so smooth and we just always felt like if something would go wrong we wouldn't be alone. They give you a map and information. They have a pantry of free (non-perishable) food other travellers left behind and there's nothing better than to arrive after a long flight and already have some hot chocolate powder another traveller was nice enough to leave behind. Thanks again to Happy Campers
