How to import and embed Tripadvisor reviews?

Steps and instructions on how you can generate your Tripadvisor reviews and embed them on any website.

If you're running a hospitality business, you probably know about Tripadvisor reviews and their impact on getting new customers. But did you know you can do even more with those reviews? You can put them right on your own website and gain even more customers.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to do just that. It's a great way to show off what your customers say about you. Let's get started!

  1. Create an account on EmbedReviews.

  2. Import your Tripadvisor reviews with bulk CSV import or manually.

  3. Create and customize your reviews widget.

  4. Copy the widget code and go to your website builder.

  5. Paste the code in the body section of the HTML editor, and Save the update.

That's it! Now your website can sell more with social proof.

Add your Tripadvisor reviews to EmbedSocial

Since we currently don't have automatic integration with Tripadvisor, I will share a few other options with you on how you can manually collect and embed your Tripadvisor reviews:

Option 1: Share a link to your Tripadvisor reviews with us

We offer a free service to import all your Tripadvisor reviews. Just share your Tripadvisor page link with us by email: support@embedsocial.com.

Option 2: Import Tripadvisor Reviews with a CSV File

This is a handy option if you have a lot of reviews. Here's how you can do it:

Step 1. First, you need to log in to your EmbedReviews account.

Step 2: In the left-hand menu, click 'Import Reviews.'

Step 3. Download the CSV template on the Import Reviews page:

Step 4. Fill it in with your Tripadvisor reviews. You can do this manually or use a tool to fill in the template. Once you are ready, export the sheet file again in a CSV file. Here is how to do this in Google Sheets:

Click the top left 'File' menu > Click 'Download' > Choose 'Comma separated values (csv)'.

Step 5: Once you have your Tripadvisor reviews in the CSV template, go back to the import page and click 'Upload file,' make sure the Date format is the same as in your template, for example, YYYY-MM-DD, and click the top right 'Upload reviews' button.

And that's it! Your Tripadvisor reviews will appear on the selected source page.

Option 3: Import Tripadvisor Reviews Manually

If you only have a few reviews or prefer to choose which ones to display, you can add them manually:

Step 1: Log in to your EmbedReviews account.

Step 2: Go to Sources, select 'Tripadvisor', and write the name of your new source.

Step 3: Choose the 'Manually add' option and click 'Next'.

Step 4: On the source page, click 'Add review'.

Step 5: Fill in the form and make sure to include the customer's name, the review text, and the review date.

Step 6: Once you've entered all the information, click 'Save'.

Step 7: Repeat this process for each review you want to add.

Below are the steps on how to get the reviews widget code and embed the Tripadvisor reviews on your website.

How to Embed Tripadvisor Reviews on your website

Once you have your Tripadvisor reviews in the platform, you only need to create a widget with the Tripadvisor source and get the code. You can do this on the Widgets page or add the reviews to the source page, as shown below.

Step 1: Go to the source page where you uploaded the reviews and click 'Create widget'.

Step 2: Once the widget is created, in the editor, click the left-hand Embed tab and click 'Copy code'.

Step 3: Go to your website builder, and paste the code into your page editor. Here is how to do this on a WordPress website:

  1. Open your WordPress page in the editor

  2. CLikc the +icon to add a new block

  3. Choose Custom HTML

  4. Paste the reviews widget code in the HTML block

  5. Click Update.
