How to Create Your First AI Widget
Before creating the widget, you need to collect your content. Make sure you have your sources connected (e.g., Google Reviews, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) in the 'Sources' tab.
Ready to try the magic? 🪄 Here is how it works:
Step 1: Create a widget Go to the 'Widgets' section, click on the "+ New widget" button, and pick the option "Generate with AI"
Step 2: Type Your Prompt This is where the magic happens. You will see a text box where you can describe exactly what you need. Select your source for the widget, type your prompt and once you are done, click on "Generate"
Example: "Create a widget with soft floating cards that gently rise on hover. Use muted pastel colors and minimal shadows."
Example: "Build a simple slider where the cards move along a gentle wave motion. Use light gradients."
Step 3: Enhance your prompt (optional, recommended)
After typing your prompt, you will see an Enhance button next to the prompt input. Click it to let the AI expand your simple prompt into a detailed set of instructions.
The enhanced prompt shows every element the AI plans to customize: layout structure, spacing, hover effects, typography, card styles, borders, shadows, and more. You can review, edit, or remove specific parts before generating.
This helps you:
Discover what is possible: see the full range of elements you can customize
Stay in control: review and adjust every detail before the AI generates anything
Get better results on the first try: detailed prompts produce widgets that need fewer rounds of editing
Tip: You do not need to use Enhance every time. If you already know exactly what you want, you can skip this step and generate directly from your own prompt.
Step 3.1: Apply your Brand Theme
When you create an AI widget, the AI editor will automatically detect the brand colors from your website and ask you in the chat prompt if you would like to apply them. If you confirm, the AI will subtly apply your brand colors across the widget — including headers, buttons, links, and accents — while keeping the design clean and professional. You can skip this step if you prefer to keep the default template colors. (Learn more about Brand Theme here).
Step 4: Improve the design If you want to change something in the first generated widget, feel free to type a new prompt. You can be more specific and share more details for what you have imagined.
Step 5: Embed Once you are happy with the result, just copy the code and embed it on your website!
Note* Do not refresh the page while AI generates your widget. If you do this, the widget will be back to the previous design.

Does this use my AI Credits? Yes, generating a widget structure uses [X] AI credit(s).
One AI action = One AI Credit.
Can I still change the widget after the AI builds it? Absolutely. Once AI will generate your widget, you can write a new prompt and send it.
What does the Enhance button do? It expands your basic prompt into a detailed set of instructions that covers every customizable element (layout, spacing, hover effects, typography, card styles, and more). You can review and edit the enhanced prompt before generating. This gives you full transparency into what the AI will build and typically reduces the number of editing rounds needed.
What is Brand Theme? When you create an AI widget from a template, EmbedSocial detects the brand colors from your website and offers to apply them to your widget. The AI decides where each color fits best for a subtle, on-brand result. Learn more here.
What happens if I get an error while generating? If you see an "Unable to generate HTML" error, a Retry button will appear directly in the chat. Click it to resend your prompt with a single click — no need to retype anything.
