You would like to display your Instagram highlights on your website? Follow the next steps to see how you can achieve this through EmbedStories and the workaround we have.
Due to privacy policy, the current Instagram API does not allow us to pull your archived/highlights stories in EmbedStories.
However, there is a very helpful workaround from Instagram that allows you to download your archived stories in a JSON format ZIP file, and we can import them into your EmbedStories account.
If you still don't have an EmbedStories account, click to start a 7-day trial.
These are the steps that you can follow to download the stories in JSON format.
Open your Instagram > Click 'More' in the bottom left > Click Your Activity > Click 'Download Your Information'
Then enter your email and select the file to be in JSON format, then click Next.
In the next window, enter your Instagram Password and Request Download.
Instagram will start creating a file of your information and will email a link to your email once it's ready.
It usually takes a few minutes, but it may take up to 48 hours to collect this information and send it to your email.
Go to your email inbox and click to Download Information in the email you received from Instagram
Log in to your Instagram, and click on Download Information:
The Zipped file will download with all of the data from your Instagram account.
Open this file and click on the Content folder. From this folder, zip the Stories.json, and send it to us.
Also, open the Media folder, zip the Stories folder, and send it to us as well. Or, if you only want to use stories from a specific month, you can send us the folder with stories only from that month.
We'll then import the stories to your Embed Social account.
Later on, you can re-create the stories as highlights, or use them as regular stories widgets.
