How The City of West Hollywood Expands Social Media Reach
The City of West Hollywood is like no other city in the world.
West Hollywood is located in the heart of metropolitan Los Angeles. It’s a city with an active spirit. For more than three decades now West Hollywood has been at the forefront of public policy and social change.
We had a chance to talk with Jayce Simpson from the WeHo Communications Department and he shared their experience with EmbedFeed, which they use to manage and incorporate over two dozen social media profiles across all networks.
The City Of West Hollywood region is a robust economic and cultural center instilled with idealism and creativity. It is a bustling hub of creativity and ideology with an upbeat vibe.
The City’s advocacy and services priorities are reflected in the City’s core values, which include: respect for people; responsiveness to the public needs; creativity with a hint of innovation.
The City of West Hollywood is a hotspot for entertainment, music history, and culture-making. Visitors come from all over the world to see its iconic destinations such as The Sunset Strip, Santa Monica Boulevard’s LGBT landmarks, and Design District for shopping galleries or restaurants.
Bring important messaging from social media to the website
We talked to Jayce to understand which challenges the Communications Department is facing related to aggregating social media efforts:
“The City of West Hollywood incorporates the use of over two dozen social media profiles across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. Social media is a powerful tool for municipal communications and community engagement that works at lightning speed.“
Knowing that some of their visitors may not want to follow them on social media or don’t like the platforms they communicate on, the WeHo Communications Department was looking for a solution that would help them to fill that gap.
“As such, our official accounts act as the “primary face” of the City and must be readily accessible and available. While we encourage all community members to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, we understand that some may be reluctant to do so, or may not have any interest in utilizing one of the platforms that we communicate on.”Jayce Simpson
Finding a powerful social media aggregator
The City of West Hollywood’s Communications Department has been honored with dozens of awards in recognition of its innovative approach and effectiveness in engaging with community members.
In an effort to bridge the gap, they utilize the Embed Social platform to bring all the important messaging from Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, straight to their official City website. And here’s what Jayce says about it:
“Embed Social seamlessly mirrors the content and information we post daily to social media and presents it on select City of West Hollywood webpages without the need to login to a specific platform or download any apps. This makes it extremely simple for community members to access our posts by visiting weho.org/socialmedia. From there, community members can view our daily video updates, latest posts, announcements, and more!”
They have more than two dozen social media accounts and what they got with EmbedFeed is a seamless aggregation of all the social media efforts they make.
Jayce also told us about the perks and benefits of the tool – and he had more than great words for the Support Team:
“Embed Social never disappoints. Their support team is one of the best I’ve ever worked with – they’re quick to reply, and always happy to help troubleshoot any issue you’re experiencing. Best of all, they always have a solution!”Jayce Simpson
Expansion of social media reach
The City of West Hollywood keeps its social media presence high and thanks to EmbedFeed they’re continuously expanding its reach and ensuring great communication with its visitors.
“Embed Social is the perfect solution for any government agency looking to expand its social media reach and provide accessible information, announcements, and alerts directly on its official website! Setup was simple and you can automate the rest.”
