Compare Instagram Reels vs. feed reach in Google Sheets
Use InvisibleAPI’s Reels vs. feed reach agent to compare reach by content format and follower status.
One connection. Runs on the accounts you connect in InvisibleAPI.
What does it do?
Connect InvisibleAPI with Claude or ChatGPT and Google Drive to create an agent that pulls your Instagram account’s reach and splits it by content format: Reels, feed posts, and Stories. The agent requests separate reach breakdowns by content format and by follower status over the period you choose. It then exports the breakdown into a spreadsheet.
Useful for
- Settling the Reels vs. feed debate with your own data: your account’s numbers, not industry averages;
- Measuring discovery, not just reach: see how much reach comes from people who don’t follow you yet;
- Planning your content mix: shift effort toward the formats with the most reach.
How to compare Instagram Reels vs. feed reach in Google Sheets
- Create your InvisibleAPI account. Sign up for the 7-day free trial at InvisibleAPI.
- Connect your Instagram account. Add a Business or Creator account and approve the insights permissions.
- Connect Google Drive in your AI tool. Make sure your AI environment can create or update a spreadsheet.
- Set up the InvisibleAPI MCP in Claude or ChatGPT. Add https://api.invisibleapi.ai/mcp as a custom connector in your AI tool.
- Authorize access. Log in with OAuth and pick the organization the agent can use.
- Run the prompt. Ask your AI tool to compare Reels and feed reach and export the results into Google Sheets.
Note: Depending on the connectors you are using, you may be prompted to authenticate your platform connections by logging into your accounts. Insights only work for Instagram professional accounts (Business or Creator). If you first connected the account only for publishing, reconnect it to add the insights permissions. InvisibleAPI fetches insights live and doesn’t store history, so export each run to Sheets if you want to track trends over time.
Real-world use case
Imagine your team is arguing about whether to go all-in on Reels or keep investing in carousels. Instead of guessing from a few viral posts, you ask Claude or ChatGPT:
Using the InvisibleAPI MCP, get Instagram account insights for [account] for the last 30 days. Request two separate reach breakdowns: one by media product type (Reels, feed posts, Stories), and one by follow type (followers vs. non-followers). Keep the breakdowns separate. Do not calculate non-follower reach per format. Export the results into Google Sheets with a raw data tab and a summary comparison with a recommendation on content mix.
Your AI tool pulls your reach data, splits it by format, and builds a spreadsheet that compares reach by format alongside a separate follower and non-follower breakdown.
InvisibleAPI is a separate product built by the EmbedSocial team, with its own pricing: $9 a month covers your first 2 connected accounts, each extra account is $5, and there is a 7-day free trial. Its MCP publishes to Instagram and X and reads Instagram account insights. To read what other people post about you, use the EmbedSocial Instagram MCP.
