What is the TikTok API?
TikTok offers official APIs for apps that read TikTok content. EmbedSocial connects to them for you: add your TikTok account, single videos or brand mentions as sources, then call EmbedSocial endpoints with one API key to get the videos as JSON, with captions, media, links and dates. API access is part of the Premium plan, and it does not publish to TikTok.
Pull from an account, a single video or your mentions
Pick what each TikTok source watches when you connect it. Mentions collect the videos creators post that tag your brand account, so your app can show what people say about you, not only what you post.

Put your TikTok sources in a widget and page through it by its reference, up to 200 videos at a time. Or query across every source, with TikTok next to your other networks, by keyword, date, tag, rating or AI score.

What TikTok lets us pull
The API can only return what EmbedSocial could pull from TikTok in the first place. These limits come from TikTok's own API.
Public videos only
Only public TikTok videos and accounts can be pulled. If an account is set to private, its videos will not come through.
Password changes drop access
Changing the TikTok password or privacy settings removes third-party access. Reconnect the account from Manage accounts on the Sources page.
How to get your EmbedSocial API key

Can I get TikTok videos by hashtag through the API?
No. TikTok's API does not allow a hashtag source. To get a specific hashtag video, add it by its link with the TikTok Video source type, put it in a widget and read it with the posts endpoint.
Can I get videos from a TikTok account I do not own?
Only public TikTok content can be pulled. To connect a full account you log in with it. For a single public video from any account, use the TikTok Video source type and paste its link.
Can I get TikTok mentions through the API?
Yes. Connect Mentions as a source with your brand's TikTok Business account, put it in a widget and read it with the posts endpoint, or search it with the query endpoint. Mentions sync once every 24 hours.

Can I post to TikTok with the EmbedSocial API?
No. The EmbedSocial API does not publish to social networks. It reads the TikTok videos you have connected as sources.
Why did my TikTok videos stop coming through?
