Create an event hashtag recap report in Google Docs
Use EmbedSocial’s event hashtag recap agent to turn the posts your attendees shared under your event hashtag into a finished post-event report.
One connection. Runs on your live EmbedSocial data.
What does it do?
Connect EmbedSocial with Claude or ChatGPT and Google Drive to create an agent that pulls every public post collected under your event hashtag and summarizes what happened online. The agent calculates post volume per day, total engagement, top contributors, and the most-engaged posts, groups recurring themes and sentiment, then writes a recap report in Google Docs with the raw data in a linked Google Sheet.
Useful for
- Proving event ROI to sponsors and stakeholders: hard numbers on posts and engagement instead of “the vibe was great”;
- Finding your best UGC fast: the top posts and most active attendees, ready to reshare or request rights for;
- Learning what landed: see which sessions, speakers, or moments people talked about most.
How to create an event hashtag recap report in Google Docs
- Create your EmbedSocial account. Sign up for a free EmbedSocial trial to connect hashtag tracking and turn on the MCP.
- Create a widget with your event hashtag. Add the hashtag before the event starts, e.g. #brandsummit26, so posts are collected live.
- Let the widget collect posts. Keep it running through the event and for a few days after to catch late recaps.
- Connect Google Drive in your AI tool. Make sure your AI environment can create Google Docs and Sheets.
- Set up the EmbedSocial MCP in Claude or ChatGPT. Paste the MCP URL into your AI tool and authorize access with your EmbedSocial account.
- Run the prompt. Ask your AI tool to build the recap and save it to Google Drive.
Note: Depending on the connectors you are using, you may be prompted to authenticate your platform connections by logging into your accounts. Create the hashtag widget before the event starts. Instagram’s hashtag API only returns recent posts, so posts from before the widget existed may not be collected.
Real-world use case
Imagine your conference ended on Friday and the sponsor recap is due on Monday. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of tagged posts and screenshotting the good ones, you ask Claude or ChatGPT:
Using the EmbedSocial MCP, pull all posts from [widget] tracking #[event hashtag] between [start date] and [end date]. Calculate total posts, posts per day, total engagement, top 10 posts by engagement, and top 10 contributors. Group the main themes and overall sentiment. Write a recap report in Google Docs with an executive summary, key numbers, top posts with links, and themes, and export the raw post data into a Google Sheet.
Your AI tool pulls the collected posts, crunches the numbers, and delivers a recap report you can send to sponsors, leadership, or a client the same day.
Prefer to build this into your own app instead of running it from a prompt? The same posts, mentions, reviews and widget analytics are available through the social media API.
