It’s Monday, 9:40 a.m. A client asks which creators posted about their new serum last week, which video you should turn into an ad, and how the campaign landed in Germany versus the UK.

On TikTok, that used to mean an hour of scrolling, a screenshot folder and a spreadsheet nobody trusts.

Now it can be three prompts in one chat.

Claude and ChatGPT can work with TikTok once you give them a bridge to your data. That bridge is an MCP server. Connect the EmbedSocial TikTok MCP and either assistant can read the TikTok mentions and videos you collect, pick the best UGC, and prepare reports. Slack, Canva, Shopify, Google Sheets, and Clay require separately connected tools in your assistant. The EmbedSocial MCP provides read-only access to your connected data.

For the website handoff, start with the TikTok widget.

This guide covers the setup in five steps, the three jobs agencies run every week, and the limits you should know before you promise a client anything. If you’re comparing options first, start with our roundup of social media MCP servers.

Three TikTok jobs one MCP handles from Claude or ChatGPT

Neither Claude nor ChatGPT can open TikTok on its own. They need an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that hands them real data through a secure connection.

On TikTok, agency work sorts into three jobs, and one read-only MCP covers all three:

Job What you ask for Where the result goes
1. Listen New mentions, top videos, who posted them Chat, Slack
2. Reuse The best UGC, matched to ads, products and launch pages Canva, Shopify, your website
3. Report Sentiment, themes, markets, top posts Google Sheets

That’s the main difference from our Claude and ChatGPT for Instagram playbook. There, publishing needed a second MCP with write access. On TikTok, the work that pays agencies is listening and reuse, so a single connection does the heavy lifting.

The EmbedSocial MCP provides read-only access. It can’t post, like, reply or change anything in a client’s TikTok account.

How to connect TikTok to Claude or ChatGPT in 5 simple steps

Every setup has two links: TikTok to EmbedSocial, then EmbedSocial to your AI assistant. If you don’t have an account yet, set up your EmbedSocial account first.

You connect TikTok once. After that, the Claude and ChatGPT steps are identical except for where the settings live.

How to connect TikTok to Claude or ChatGPT in five steps: add a TikTok source, add a custom connector, paste the EmbedSocial MCP URL, authorize, and test

Connect the EmbedSocial MCP to Claude

  1. Add your TikTok source in EmbedSocial. Click + Add source, pick TikTok, then choose TikTok Account (your own videos), Mentions (videos that tag your brand) or TikTok Video (one video by URL). For account and mention sources, log in and approve the permissions. For a single video, paste the video’s URL rather than logging in. Keep another browser tab logged in to the same TikTok account while connecting an account or mentions source, or the connection can fail. Full steps are in the TikTok source docs.

  2. Add a custom connector in Claude. In the Claude app or on claude.ai, click the + icon, go to Add connector and choose Add custom connector.

  3. Paste the server URL. Name it EmbedSocial and enter https://embedsocial.com/admin/mcp. Click Add.

  4. Authorize it. Open Settings > Connectors, find EmbedSocial, click Connect and approve. The Claude MCP connector docs cover each screen.

  5. Run a test prompt. Ask: “Using the EmbedSocial MCP, list my connected TikTok sources.” If Claude names them, you’re live. Ready-made prompts are on the TikTok MCP page.

Connect the EmbedSocial MCP to ChatGPT

The quickest way to connect is to install the EmbedSocial plugin. It needs no Developer mode and no server URL. You can still add the MCP server yourself as a custom connector, as described below.

For the manual setup, first add your TikTok source in EmbedSocial if you haven’t already done it for Claude. Then follow OpenAI’s current custom MCP setup in ChatGPT on the web:

  1. Open the custom MCP setup. Go to Plugins, click +, then select Add custom MCP server.

  2. Enter the connection details. Name it EmbedSocial and enter https://embedsocial.com/admin/mcp in the Server URL field under Connection.

  3. Create the plugin. Configure the server’s authentication, review the risk warning, and select Create as a plugin after accepting the warning.

  4. Install and authorize it. Find the new plugin in your personal plugins or workspace and install it. Sign in to EmbedSocial when prompted and approve the connection and tool permissions.

  5. Run the same test prompt. In a chat, type @, select your installed EmbedSocial plugin, and ask it to list your connected TikTok sources.

Access depends on your account and workspace permissions. In a managed workspace, ask your administrator if you cannot add or install a custom MCP plugin. Workspace security restrictions, including Lockdown, can block access.

One tip that saves hours later: the assistant finds data by source and widget name. Name sources so a prompt can’t confuse them, for example “Glow Labs | TikTok mentions”.

Job 1: Hear what people post about you on TikTok

Most brand talk on TikTok happens on other people’s accounts. A creator tags your client in an unboxing, and unless someone checks Activity that day, the video disappears into the feed.

The TikTok mentions source collects those videos for you. The MCP lets you ask questions about them in plain language.

Pull TikTok mentions on demand

Once mentions are syncing, Claude or ChatGPT can search them by date range or keyword, open a single video, and rank results by engagement. Each result comes back with the creator, the caption, the date and a link.

Prompts that work well:

This is TikTok social listening without a dashboard to learn. The account manager asks; the assistant answers with sources.

For monitoring across networks, see social listening, the TikTok social listening tool and brand monitoring.

Send new mentions to Slack automatically

Asking is good. Not having to ask is better.

The TikTok mentions to Slack automation runs one prompt:

“Using the EmbedSocial MCP, fetch TikTok mentions for [brand] from the last 7 days from the [widget name], pick the top 5 by engagement, and send them to Slack.”

Connect Slack in your assistant, run it every Monday, and the team starts the week with a shortlist of the five videos worth acting on. For an agency with 12 clients, that’s 12 channels of signal instead of 12 TikTok tabs.

What to watch for in mention data

Mentions sync once every 24 hours, so a video posted this morning may show up tomorrow. That’s fine for weekly reviews.

If you want benchmarks for what to track, our list of social listening metrics is a good starting point.

Job 2: Reuse the best TikTok UGC videos

Illustration of creator video stills selected for a website page, not a product screenshot

Most of it never gets used again.

Turn top TikTok UGC into Canva ad creatives

The Canva ad creatives automation pulls the highest-engagement TikTok UGC videos from your mentions source and builds three Canva ad variations from each one.

The TikTok UGC guide covers which formats convert best.

Before any creator video runs as an ad, get permission. Our UGC rights management guide explains the process. For TikTok Spark Ads, use Content Linking: send a linking request and wait for the creator to accept. Get the creator’s permission for any edited creative or other placement. An engagement ranking does not grant permission to reuse a video. If you want to boost the original post itself, see how to turn TikTok mentions into Spark Ads with the creator’s approval.

Match TikTok UGC to Shopify product pages

For ecommerce clients, a TikTok review is most valuable next to the Buy button.

The Shopify matching automation finds Instagram and TikTok UGC that mentions a product and maps each video to its Shopify product page. Connect Shopify in your assistant so it can read the catalog.

Use the output to choose videos for a shoppable widget or the ready-made shoppable TikTok mentions template. For more on why this lifts sales, read about shoppable UGC widgets.

Gather fresh UGC before a product launch

Launch pages need proof on day one. The pre-launch UGC automation pulls the last 14 days of Instagram, TikTok and YouTube UGC that mentions a product or keyword and lists the assets ready for the Shopify launch page.

Run it a week before launch, then again on launch morning. Mentions sync once every 24 hours, so today’s video may appear tomorrow.

Embed TikTok UGC on your website

The simplest reuse is the most visible one: put the videos on the site.

Follow the steps to embed a TikTok UGC widget, or start from the TikTok widget and pick a layout like the TikTok feed widget. Agencies with several client sites can compare formats in our list of TikTok widgets for agencies.

Ask Claude which videos to feature, then pin them in the widget. The assistant picks, the widget publishes, and the client sees it live.

Job 3: Report on what worked

Illustration of a weekly planner, creator video still and report sheet, not measured results

Clients don’t pay for mentions. They pay for what the mentions mean.

This is where an AI assistant beats a dashboard. It reads every caption and turns them into the summary an account manager would write if they had a free afternoon.

Export TikTok campaign sentiment to Google Sheets

The campaign sentiment automation pulls TikTok posts for a campaign, labels each one positive, negative or neutral, finds recurring reactions, lists the top 10 posts by engagement, and exports it all to Google Sheets.

You get a sheet you can paste into a QBR deck: what people loved, what they complained about, and the posts that prove it. For the method behind it, see AI sentiment analysis and brand sentiment.

Break down TikTok mentions by market

Global brands rarely land the same way everywhere. The mentions by market automation groups mentions by market or language, then summarizes volume, sentiment, top themes, top posts and recommended actions for each one.

That last column matters. A report that ends in recommended actions gets read; a report that ends in charts gets filed. Pair it with market research and social insights when the client wants trends over time.

How agencies run TikTok for multiple clients from one chat

One client is easy. Fifteen is where the system has to carry you.

One source per client, one naming system

The assistant resolves data by name. Your EmbedSocial account permissions control access. Naming helps the assistant choose the right source; it does not isolate client data. Use one pattern for every client:

Then every prompt reads the same way, and a new account manager can run a client’s week from day one. EmbedSocial’s agency plans keep all of those sources in one login.

Find creators from mentions and enrich them in Clay

The Clay creator automation pulls creators from Instagram hashtags and mentions plus TikTok mentions, removes duplicates by handle, and sends the list to Clay to add contact details for outreach.

That turns listening into a creator pipeline. For vetting tips, read how to find influencers and why micro-influencers often outperform bigger names. EmbedSocial’s influencer discovery covers the rest.

A weekly TikTok rhythm: listen Monday, reuse Wednesday, report Friday

Here’s the cadence we’d set up for every client:

Day Job Prompt to run
Monday Listen Top 5 TikTok mentions from the last 7 days, sent to the client’s Slack channel
Wednesday Reuse Top videos turned into Canva ad variations, plus picks for the website widget
Friday Report Sentiment and themes for the week, exported to Google Sheets
Monthly Grow New creators from mentions, enriched in Clay

Three prompts a week per client. Everything else is review and judgment, which is the part clients pay you for. Agencies that want to go further can compare competitors the same way with AI competitor analysis.

TikTok MCP limits to know before you start

Every tool has edges. Know these before you pitch the workflow to a client.

What the EmbedSocial MCP can’t do on TikTok

Where TikTok’s official MCP fits

TikTok has its own TikTok for Business MCP server, announced at TikTok World 2026. It’s built for ads, not organic content.

TikTok for Business MCP EmbedSocial TikTok MCP
Data Ad campaigns, audiences, performance Mentions, UGC, account videos
Access Read and write (budgets, bids, campaigns) Read-only
Best for Media buyers Social, content and community teams
Connects to Your ads account Separately connected Slack, Canva, Shopify, Sheets, Clay tools in your assistant

They don’t compete. Use TikTok’s server to run the ads, and EmbedSocial’s to find the creator videos worth putting in them. The same split applies if you build your own app: the data is also available through the social media API.

Conclusion: Listen first, then let your best TikToks do the selling

Claude and ChatGPT for TikTok pay off when they’re tied to real data. The agencies that win won’t be the ones with the most tabs open. They’ll be the ones who turn every mention into a decision: reply, reuse, report or recruit.

Connect one client’s TikTok to EmbedSocial, add the MCP to Claude or ChatGPT, and run the Monday Slack prompt. If the shortlist saves you an hour, roll it out to the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a TikTok MCP server for Claude?

Yes. The EmbedSocial TikTok MCP connects to Claude as a custom connector at https://embedsocial.com/admin/mcp. It gives Claude read access to the TikTok mentions, account videos and single videos you collect in EmbedSocial.

Can ChatGPT access TikTok data?

Yes, through an MCP connector. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT, add EmbedSocial as a custom connector with the same server URL, and sign in. ChatGPT can then read your connected TikTok sources.

Can Claude or ChatGPT post to TikTok?

Not with the EmbedSocial MCP, which is read-only. TikTok’s own MCP server can create and manage ad campaigns, but organic posting still happens in TikTok or a scheduling tool.

Can I track competitor TikTok mentions with an MCP?

Only for content you can collect. TikTok’s API doesn’t support hashtag tracking, and mention sources cover videos that tag an account you connect. For competitor research, add specific competitor videos as single-video sources and compare them in chat.

Do I need a TikTok Business account to use the TikTok MCP?

To pull mentions you need a TikTok Business account for your brand (the account creators tag). See the TikTok Content Linking docs. Mention tracking is a social listening source that starts on the Pro Plus plan, so check your EmbedSocial plan before setting it up.
