NewAnnouncing New source: LinkedIn Mentions

Trustpilot

Connect your Trustpilot profile as a source in EmbedSocial with your Trustpilot API key, and display those reviews in a widget.

A Trustpilot source pulls the reviews from your Trustpilot profile into EmbedSocial, so you can show them on your website in a widget instead of sending visitors off to Trustpilot to read them.

The connection runs through Trustpilot's official API, so you need two things before you start: the URL of your Trustpilot review page, and your own Trustpilot API key. You get the key from your Trustpilot Business account settings.

Trustpilot sources are available on the Premium plan and above.

How to connect a Trustpilot source

  1. Open the source picker. Click '+ Add source' in the left menu.

  2. Choose Trustpilot. Under 'or connect single source', click 'Trustpilot'.

  3. Pick the source type. On 'Choose source type', select 'Pull Reviews via Official API Key', then click 'Next'.

  4. Add your page URL and API key. On 'Configuration', paste your review page into 'Trustpilot Page URL' (it looks like https://www.trustpilot.com/review/your-business), paste your key into 'API Key', then click 'Connect source'.

  5. Pick a widget template. Choose a template for the widget that will display your reviews.

The 'API Key' field says it plainly: obtain your API key from your Trustpilot Business account settings. Without it the source cannot be connected, because our integration reads your reviews through Trustpilot's official API.

What a Trustpilot source pulls

The source imports the reviews published on your Trustpilot profile: rating, review text, reviewer name, and date. From then on it keeps syncing on your plan's auto-sync interval, so new reviews reach your website without you re-embedding anything. See Auto-sync for the interval on each plan.

FAQ

Do I need a Trustpilot API key?

Yes. Our integration works through Trustpilot's official API, so the source cannot be connected without your own key. You generate it in your Trustpilot Business account settings.

Which plan do I need for a Trustpilot source?

Trustpilot sources are available on the Premium plan and above.

Where do I find my Trustpilot page URL?

Open your profile on Trustpilot and copy the address from your browser. It has the form https://www.trustpilot.com/review/your-business, which is exactly what the field's placeholder shows.

Can I connect more than one Trustpilot profile?

Yes. Run through '+ Add source' again for each one. Every connected profile counts as one source against your plan's source limit, shown in the header as, for example, '79/100 sources'.

Can I show Trustpilot reviews next to reviews from other platforms?

Yes. Connect each platform as its own source, then select the ones you want when you build the widget.

What's next

With the source connected, decide how its reviews reach your site. See Source types for how sources feed your widgets, and the social media aggregator for what you can build once several are connected.
