It works from the same composer as every other platform: 'Publishing' in the left menu, then '+ Create post'. Because the Threads account sits in the same account picker as Instagram, LinkedIn and your Google business profile, one post can go to Threads and the rest at the same time. Social media scheduling is available from the Pro plan.
Connect the account first if you have not already: see Connect a Threads source and pick the 'Accounts' source type.
How to schedule a Threads post
Open Publishing. Click 'Publishing' in the left menu, then '+ Create post'.
Select your Threads account. Under 'Where to share this post', tick the account labeled 'Threads'. The list holds every connected account, so tick any others the post should go to as well, or use '+ New source' to connect an account without leaving the composer.
Write the post and add media. Type the text of the post, then upload an image, several images, or a video under 'Upload image or a video' if you want one. Threads posts can also go out as text only. The preview on the left renders the post as a Threads post, so you can see it before it goes out.
Generate the text with AI (optional). Describe the post in the 'Post caption' field, such as "cosmetics brand", and click 'Generate caption'. It costs 1 AI credit, and you can edit the result before it goes out.
Publish or schedule. Under 'Publishing settings', pick 'Publish now' and click 'Publish', or pick 'Schedule post', choose the timezone, date and time, and click 'Schedule'. 'Save as draft' keeps the post for later either way.
Threads is one of the few platforms in the composer that accepts a post with no media at all, so a text-only thought can be scheduled the same way as an image post.
What you can post to Threads
A scheduled Threads post can carry any of these:
- Text only, with no media attached.
- One image.
- Multiple images, published as a carousel.
- A video.
Post types such as Reel and Story are Instagram concepts and do not appear for Threads. If an Instagram account is ticked in the same post, the 'Post type' choice applies to that account only.
